Involvement in key projects boosts agency activities
Stratton Creber Commercial has been named the most active commercial property agent in Devon for the ninth consecutive year, meaning the firm has let, sold and acquired more than anyone else in the county’s commercial sector.
The Most Active Agent Award for Devon 2018 was received from EGi, the online arm of Estates Gazette, the property industry’s leading journal.
Widely recognised as one of the top accolades for commercial property agents, the award celebrates the number of transactions completed each year and marks a successful period for the regional firm.
Managing director Chris Ryland says: “There’s no doubt about it, commercial property is booming in the region and we are delighted to be at the forefront of some really high profile developments.”
Stratton Creber Commercial is involved in a number of landmark initiatives including the £50 million project by developers Thamesbank to transform the former Derry’s department store at Derry’s Cross, where contractors are already on-site beginning its metamorphosis into a 120-bed Premier Inn, 500 self-contained student dwellings and nine commercial units.
The firm has also been appointed by award-winning developers Urban Splash at Royal William Yard, where the wholesale refurbishment of the Melville building will create 60,000 sq ft of office and leisure space.
In addition, the Plymouth agency team is on board at The Merchant, a state-of-the-art commercial refurbishment in Notte Street. The £4 million scheme will provide 32,000 sq. ft. of open plan, high specification, contemporary office space which includes a new glazed 5th floor penthouse with panoramic views.
Other recent successes include the sale of all 16 units at waterside scheme Apollo Court, which proved a hit with property investors and owner-occupiers alike.
And the North Road consultancy played a pivotal role in the marketing of refurbished former Land Registry building Plumer House, where 28,000 sq ft offices are now let to a range of occupiers including Plymouth Argyle FC.
The firm’s Exeter office has been involved in a number of large investment sales and acquisitions, including Skyways Business Park, comprising 14 modern industrial units, Manaton Business Park in Matford, involving 10 office units, and the conversion of landmark building Number 1 Barnfield Crescent into unique serviced offices.
Healthy levels of demand and a high volume of transactions are also reported in Exeter’s business space and retail sectors.
Ryland adds: “The award endorses our commitment to the sector with the largest dedicated agency team in Devon, based in Plymouth and Exeter.
“It also provides a level of confidence for our clients who can be confident they are dealing with the market leader.”
EGi invited agents to submit records of their deals for the twelve months to August 2018 before compiling a comprehensive list of which agents had carried out the most deals across all commercial property types and across all regions of the UK.
